Aghaderg have sent an open invitation to any Clann na Banna retired (over the hill, never even made it up the hill, or out of the car park) players who wish to join them in informal Social Football in Aghaderg on a Sunday evening starting Sunday 5th February 8-9pm. All past players are welcome and it's more an opportunity for older players to get together for a kick about than anything too serious.

Underage Dates for 2012

posted 2 Jan 2012 03:11 by pro clannnabanna

For the 2012 U6, U8 and U10 teams, we plan a couple of pre-season phases before the summer.

On Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-7:30pm, beginning 26 January, we will hire St Patrick's school halls for skills training lead by coaches from the Ulster Council. Continuing until 1 March, this will be an excellent chance for players to improve their personal skills before the new season.

From 11 March until 1 April, we move to outdoor training at Havelock Park on Sunday's from 11:30am-1:00pm.

After Easter, we return to our regular Thursday evening summer training, at Cottage Park, from 6:30pm-8:00pm.

If you're not already a club member and would like to join, please contact Barry McConville secretary.clannnabanna.down@gaa.ie

Watch here for updates, confirmations and further information.

Underage Winter Programme

posted 9 Dec 2011 05:44 by pro clannnabanna

The winter programme for the U6, U8 and U10 groups has operated on Sunday's at Banbridge Leisure Centre since October this year. 11 December is our last for 2011 (starting at 11:45am).

The plan for 2012 is being finalised, but should see a six-week Thursday evening (6:30-pm-7:30pm) programme, beginning mid-January, assisted by the Ulster Council and held at St Patrick's school hall, Banbridge. This will lead into Sunday outdoor training in March before we move to our summer schedule of Thursday evenings.

Details will follow, but be assured we have plenty on!

Clann na Banna are urging any ladies up for a challenge to make full
use of their new initiative "Gael-Aerobics". Starting on Tuesday 17th
May, this ladies only initiative developed by the coaches at Clann na
Banna will see the training techniques of ladies football, camogie and
rounders brought together under one circuit training program.

Clann na Banna Vice Chairperson and club coach, Paul Malone told us
more about the program. "Basically the program is designed for ladies
of all ages from 14 to 80 using ladies Rounders, Camogie and Football
training techniques as the basis for the exercise program. Its
definitely going to be something different for the girls to do, and
it'll be a bit of craic at the same time. Its all about getting active
and raising your fitness levels at the same time. The program has been
put together by professional fitness instructors who are also club
members, and it has been specifically designed that everyone will
train at their own pace, but at the same time benefit from the group
sessions. What we can guarantee is that you'll feel it at the end of
each session, and hopefully see the difference after the end of the
program.

The sessions will run for 8 weeks from the 17th May and everyone is
welcome to come along, you don't have to be a club member or even
interested in Gaelic sports. There is a nominal fee of £2 per session
for non club members, and club members are free. We have plenty of
room so we are urging anyone interested to bring a friend or even two!
The more the merrier! Further details are on the website and Facebook
